Welcome to the 2009 Northern Rockies Bioneers MSU Scholarship page.
To enhance the educational opportunities for students at Montana State University and to
build connections between the University and community entities that are working to
enhance social and environmental sustainability in our region BORN, NECO, and the ASMSU
Sustainability Center have partnered to offer student scholarships to attend the Northern
Rockies Bioneers Conference free of charge.Total scholarships available: 400
The following offices, departments and colleges at MSU have contributed to the fund:
University Studies*
College of Art & Architecture*
College of Business*
Sustainable Food & Bioenergy Systems*
Towne’s Harvest/Friends of Local Foods*
MSU President’s Office
Associated Students of MSU
Office of Student Affairs
Academic departments and organizations that have contributed to the fund (noted by *) will
receive a select number of reserved spaces for students in their program(s). All other
spaces will be filled on firstcome, firstserved basis from a general fund provided by the
President’s Office, ASMSU, and Student Affairs.
Criteria for Attendance
Students attending on scholarship are expected to participate fully in conference activities
during the three‐day event, October 16th, 17th, and 18th. This is important to demonstrate
the value of this opportunity so that it can be offered again in the future.
Participants are also encouraged to attend a follow‐up Sustainability Luncheon, on
October 22nd at MSU. The Luncheon will be an opportunity to meet with other students to
reflect on Bioneers and how ideas from the conference can be utilized at MSU.
